Manufacturers and importers of solar energy products are legally required to comply with the guidelines of Discarded Electrically and Electronic Garbage (AEEA), the Dutch implementation of the European guideline Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

This guideline states several requirements. The most important are:

  1. Registration of the organisation for the Dutch market;
  2. Registration of the import volume in tons per year (so-called "POM");
  3. The removal of offered garbage according to the legal requirements;
  4. Providing an "appropriate financial arrangement" which allows the organisation to ensure that the POM it places on the market can be processed in time.

The AEEA act has additional requirements. We offer a full summary of the requirements of the act as a download (pdf, Dutch Language).
